Since 2010, InterCommunity Young Adults has been hosting at least one event per year, sometimes more, that promote networking and professional development in young people from around the state. This past Tuesday, January 26, people from around the state came out in droves to meet like-minded, entrepreneurial people and to have fun with their new colleagues. More than 100 people were in attendance.
The event started with a scavenger hunt, which was created by the staff and members of Common Ground and InterCommunity’s new Young Adult Services Program. Both first and second prize in this event were won by teams made up of young adults from our friends at Capital Region in Hartford. Lunch was a big hit and during the meal, Carlos and Joe, the two organizers of the event, passed out game cards to everyone in attendance. These cards were good for unlimited game play until midnight! Carlos was the only person who stayed past 4:30 PM, since the excitement of the day undoubtedly had the other 100+ participants ready for an early bed time.
We would like to thank everyone for their support by attending the event. We would also like to thank the others who were instrumental in helping to organize the festivities, judge the scavenger hunt, and with ensuring everyone was having a good time. Lastly, and most importantly, thank you to Carlos and Joe for their hard work to create a truly special experience for so many. An experience that is sure to be remembered fondly for years to come.
